Inspired by the challenge of Swarovski to redefine the traditional presentation of Chandelier, Yves Behar has started searching the possibilities to reinvent the Chandelier designs and functionality.

Swarvoski Morpheus Chandelier is the out come of such invention.

Swarvoski Morpheus Chandelier is designed to change its form, becoming animated through interaction and a digital interface that engages the viewer not only to gaze upon but to interact with the animated transformation of the chandelier lighting.

The Chandelier has been designed using 16000 crystals, many permutations of 10 foot diameter for transformation of structure. The Morpheus light sculpture is made feasible using 6 servo-motors attached in a star configuration at the perimeter and lead cables that applies pressure to a flesible spring steel assemble. The 6 motors at the perimeter pull to create the shapes of the chandelier.

The users interact with the Morpheus chandelier using a hand held touch screen tablet to transform the shape and brightness of Morpheus, acting as a puppeteer for the chandelier. The tablet has custom made drawing software that triggers the magical transformation of the entire light.
